Encouraged
by the success of “Khushbu Gujarat Ki” campaign by Mr. Amitabh Bachchan to
attract global tourism in Gujarat, the Government of Gujarat has introduced 2
years back a scheme of ‘Gujarat Card’ which is meant to promote local business.
The scheme includes registration of local vendors / businesses with the Gujarat
State Non-Resident Gujaratis’ Foundation (GSNRGF) that will publish &
upload complete directory of registered local vendors on their website, widely
referred by NRIs /NRGs visiting Gujarat.
Generally,
visitors need favors like finding good hotel accommodation, high class
restaurants, reliable and trustworthy travel agents, details of shopping malls
who sell traditional Gujarati dresses, needless to mention about our Jewelery
showrooms, world famous sweets etc. Most importantly, Gujarat has emerged as
India's most preferred destination for investments as per the latest figures of
Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), they might want to know
more about the investments.
The basic
purpose is to distribute a complete directory to NRIs / NRGs who are visiting
Gujarat for social, business or personal visits to the state of Gujarat, where
in those vendors who would like to extend their business to all over world. The
vendors would like to offer special discount and other facilities to NRGs /NRIs
visitors.
This will
definitely give mileage to the registered vendors & businesses, as their
information of company name, contact details and business in which they are
engaged along with their special offer given to NRIs /NRGs would be displayed
on GoG website & the visitors will have beforehand information about the
products & services. It is a win-win situation for both.
Project
‘Life’ being the Rajkot NRG Center Coordinator for Saurashtra & Kutch is
pleased to announce a seminar on “Awareness of Gujarat Card” on 21st December
’13. The session will be addressed by Mr. Pankaj Kumar (IAS), Principal

results for promotion of local business. This is a very important meeting for
